Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Kia Sedona

Today on our 2012 KIA Sedona we're going to review and install the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs, part number F4138. Now with the manufacture installed springs and no weight in the vehicle we measure from top of the wheel well down to the ground, we have thirty and a half inches. Next we're going to go ahead and add some weight; now with approximately four hundred and fifty pounds of weight in the rear of the vehicle our ride height has gone down approximately an inch and a half. With that kind of weight and losing that much ride height is going to cause the rear of the vehicle to sag. Let's go ahead and go through our test course and see what it looks like. As we go through the slalom portion of our test course we can really feel the body roll and lose the steering feel, because the front end is pointed up with the backend sagging. Now if we go over the alternating bumps it's really got some up and down movement and sways side-to-side. Now we'll go over a single bump, simulating a speed bump or curb and as we go over the bump we really feel excessive jounce and rebound because of the weight. All right now with air in our Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs, we brought our vehicle back to its correct ride height. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2011 Kia Sedona

Today on our 2011 Kia Sedona we'll be installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Part Number TDVR05096.To begin our install, we've already gone ahead and taken the weight off the rear suspension. We'll need to loosen the lower control arm bolt. Starting on the driver side, we'll loosen the bolt. Now that we have the bolt loosened and the nut removed, we'll mark the spring rubber isolator and spring seat so that we get it all lined up correctly when we reinstall it. Using a paint marker, we'll mark it now. With the nut off and the bolt ready to be removed, we'll now put a jack underneath the control arm to help support the weight. With the jack under the control arm, we can now completely remove the bolt. We'll then use the jack to slowly lower the control arm and the tension left on the spring. Note in some applications, you'll need to also loosen the inner control arm bolt where it attaches to the frame. more

Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2009 Kia Sedona

Today on our 2009 Kia Sedona, we'll be installing the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs, part number F4138. We'll need to lower the rear control arm to remove the coil spring. There are two way to lower the control arm. One, by removing the wheel and the outer control arm bolt from the knuckle, and then slowly lowering the arm to release the spring tension, and then remove the spring; or to remove the inner control arm bolt, loosen the outer bolt, and allow a jack to slowly lower the control arm to release the tension on the spring, and then remove it. We're going to go with option 2 of removing the inner bolt and loosening the outer one. To start, we're going to go ahead and loosen the outer bolt. We'll just need to back it off a little bit, so that it will free up the arm and allow it to swing down. more
